Why are people so fake and their teachings?

don't you feel irritated seeing elderly people praise about their children how great they are but behind the curtains their kids are the ones controlling them because I guess they raised their children in pampering environment and being the yes person always.

I see so many parents praise their children and then teach their kids to touch the guests feet to get blessings but it's like forced pressure. and they don't study or do anything with their life but end up praising so highly of them. it's like at this point even faking it seems cringe
