Kindle Scribe Colorsoft texture too smooth?

I was surprised ot see in the product description that they describe the Colorsoft Scribe as having a paper-like texture. My experience has been that it's silky smooth (like writing on an iPad), rather than the textured surface of older Scribes or other eInk writing tablets (Supernote and RMPP come to mind).

Do other users have ones with textured surfaces (and did I get a dud), or am I just overly picky? I have a 64GB gray model.
