Is moving from ECE to infant mental health a good career step?

Advice needed :karma:(Anyone can comment) :karma:

Hi everyone, I’d love some advice. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Science from my home country and I’ve been working as an Early Childhood Educator in Canada for 4 years (I hold a Canadian ECE certificate).

I’m interested in moving out of the classroom and into something related to infant mental health, child development, or early intervention. I’m considering the Certificate in Infant Development and Supported Child Development (IDSC) at UBC.

Would this be a good next step? Has anyone taken this program or worked in IDP/SCDP roles? Any thoughts or alternative paths are welcome. Thanks!
