Writer with many problems

Is it a common stereotype that some really good writers are loners, mentally unwell, and just in general have lots of issues? I certainly fill that trope. I carry my psychiatric disorder like a badge of honor in the literary community...my bipolar gives me fuel to write great lyrical sentences. Other than that I hate all of my issues. Sometimes I wish I was normal.
