Venting/Needing Advice

Advice Needed

My son’s 6 and we started potty training him last night. My last straw was last night, I noticed he looked like he needed to go. So I took him, he sat on the toilet. Didn’t go. It’s ok, I figured he wouldn’t. But when he left the bathroom, he immediately peed in pull-up. That was my awakening moment of “this needs to be addressed & worked on”. We took away the pull ups, have him in underwear. He stays dry all night. Not super worried about that.

Today, despite taking him to the bathroom every 10-15 minutes… Sometimes even 5 minutes if I know he really has to go, he’s had 7 accidents on the floor today. He will sit on the toilet without an issue he just won’t go. He’s been holding his poop since last night. I’m really trying to tackle the peeing part at least first. The poop part I know will take longer.

I’m trying to figure out what to do for school. Should I put him in pull ups or send him in underwear? If he’s in underwear at home all day, do the pull ups at school really screw up the process? I’m trying to do what’s best for everyone including the teachers, but he needs to potty train.

Excuse my crappy writing and bad sentence structure I’m typing this while loosing my mind over here…while still monitoring him. P.S. My house smells like pee, I’m so glad we don’t have carpet. 🫠
