Would you recommend going into medicine or advanced nursing?
I’m an American high school student wanting to go to Irish university and live and work in Ireland afterward. I’m having trouble deciding between studying medicine or studying nursing and then doing an advanced nursing graduate program. I don’t know if I will be able to afford the tuition for medical school (50-60k euro a year) but I know I’ll be making enough money as a consultant to eventually pay off my debt. My parents will also cover my first year of schooling. However nursing school is cheaper but the salary is lower. I have also heard many negative things about being an Irish nurse. What are your thoughts? I have my mind set on working in the medical feild and living in Ireland I just really need some input on what career I should go into. Whats work life balance like for both careers? Is the debt to become a doctor worth it?
Thank you!
