I didn't realise losing weight would improve my facial hair.
6 months ago I (26m) decided to join the gym, I had a couple months wait before starting a new job so I thought it'd be a good time to start a good habit and it'd help to fill in my days...
I've never been too overweight in my opinion, always just a bit bigger than average and softer around the edges - I'm 6'1" and started at 105kg. I'm now sitting at about 90kg, I never had a problem before, but now I'm just very happy with where my body is at, I've got a lot more energy and I've noticed all my clothes just fit alot better.
Anyways, something that I didn't at all anticipate was the fact that my trimmed down facial hair now looks so much better... looking back at pics from 6 months ago I have lost quite a lot of the fat from around my face, especially in the area beneath my chin. I'd always thought I just had patchy facial hair in this area, but since losing weight it's completely filled itself in. I suppose it makes perfect sense, same amount of hair follicles over a smaller surface area... I just have no idea why this fact had never occurred to me?
Now I can't help but sort of notice it with some of the bigger guys in my life, purely just curiosity when I see a patch in a beard I'd wonder if it'd still be there if there face shrunk a wee bit. Nothing wrong with patchy beards or bigger faces, I've just been finding it all a bit fascinating haha.
Is this just general knowledge that I missed out on or is this news to you too? Would also love to know any other random things people have found out about themselves while at the gym? :)
