international student trying to find a way home. Could use some advice on online work.
Hi everyone,
I'm hoping you might have some advice for my situation.
I'm from Mongolia, and I'm currently studying in China. When the semester ended, I decided to stay here during the break to save on travel costs. I told my family I wouldn't be coming home. But as Lunar new year gets closer, I can't stop thinking about home. I keep imagining how wonderful it would be to surprise them. I really want to make that happen but I need to earn the money for the flight myself.
Here's the difficult part: my student visa doesn't allow me to work a regular part-time job in China. So my only option is to find work I can do online. I've spent weeks looking on different websites, in both Mongolian and English, for translation, tutoring, or remote assistant jobs. But it's been tough. I either find listings that don't feel right, or I don't hear back. A bit about what I can offer: I'm fluent in both English and Mandarin Chinese, and I also speak Thai. I'm comfortable with translation, teaching, basic administrative tasks, and writing. I'm responsible and can pick up new things quickly. (im not looking for get rich quick schemes or anything involving upfront investment. I just need honest, straightforward work)
I was wondering if any of you have been in a similar spot or have experience with online work. Any suggestion at all would mean so much to me. My goal isnt huge just to earn enough for that one flight home to see my family for the lunar.
