Got rating that was not discussed
Hello, Seeking advice for the situation I am in.
So I joined this company 2 years back in IT as a fresher. My work in my team is good. In the November, during Annual review, to conclude, I said my work has been above expectation. and all the THREE managers agreed (assigned manager, managers of 2 project that I work in)
We get to see the rating and revised salary for January in its last week which said SOLID - meets expectations. It is really disappointing for me.
Now I can do is let go and live with what I have but what I am thinking is to stretch this and talk to managers and senior managers even HR. As this is my first job and I plan not to stay for lifetime, I can take this risk to question the management but the thing which I am concerned about is I have a good comfort zone here. it's hard to say that I have dependence on my projects but I have good knowledge and understanding. After all this fuss, I am scared that they will try to bug me for XYZ reasons.
there are also 2 thoughts in my mind - 1. I should not do anything and focus on job switch but being 2YOE in SAP ABAP is nothing. I have to stay for like 1 year more or I can fake experience and switch in different tech (I am good with tech not at selling myself) 2. I should take the risk to question higher management with single objective of learning. what I mean is as a fresher, if I learn how to talk to HR and upper management on the points you do not agree, it will be beneficial for me in future.
I have all my cards on the tables. Please help me make decision.
