i am convinced i made this book up pls help lol

I remember parts of this book so well but cannot find it. It was like an interactive detective book, you could take clues out of pockets, etc. for kids but not super little kids, it was a fairly thick book. I feel like I remembered it being an animal theme, like a frog detective. but tried googling that and absolutely nothing. got it in the early 2000's. I also remembering it opening weird, maybe a flip book? I wish i could think of better descriptions but honestly it's all I've got and it's driving me insane lol i can't tell if it's real or if I'm conflating multiple books but it doesn't feel like it?? got it from a smaller bookstore so maybe there weren't many made?
