Best adults only for friends in Mexico?

My friend & I are looking to go to Mexico in late May. Both females, late 30s/early 40s. I have reviewed a lot of resorts but a lot of the really great recs and highly rated don’t have double beds. We do not want the resorts that say “1 King bed & a sofa bed.” We want two separate actual beds.

We stayed at Secrets Cap Cana (DR) in September. The resort was beautiful, great vibe, but unfortunately we weren’t able to sit on the beach a single day. The sargassum was horrible. While the tractor was out there daily, it was nonstop, we couldn’t even step into the water it was so slimy & gross. With that being said, we’d like a resort that we can enjoy the beach at least a day or two & actually step into the water. I’ve heard Isla/Costa Mujeres is supposed to be blocked by most of the sargassum, anyone have any experiences with this?

Good food, not a huge party scene but not a dead resort at night. We’re flying from NYC area, we’d like to keep our budget under $3000/pp including flights for 5 nights.
