After months of building, I'm finally ready to share what I've been working on: StayHere.ai - an AI-powered travel planning platform.

The Problem I'm Solving

Planning trips is a mess. People spend days jumping between Google, TripAdvisor, booking sites, and random blogs just to plan a 5-day vacation. I wanted to build something that does it all in one place.

What It Does

AI-generated day-by-day itineraries based on budget, travel style, dietary needs, and pace preferences

Real pricing for flights via Skyscanner integration

Google Places integration for restaurants and activities with actual ratings

Weather forecasts for travel dates

PDF export with emergency numbers, packing lists, and eSIM affiliate links

11 languages with full RTL support (Arabic, etc.)

Dark mode (obviously 😅)

Tech Stack

Next.js 15 (Pages Router)

React 19 + Tailwind CSS

PostgreSQL (Neon)

OpenAI for itinerary generation

Stripe for subscriptions

Custom JWT auth

Business Model

Freemium: 1 free trip (max 7 days) per user

Subscriptions: Monthly/3-month/yearly plans

Affiliate revenue: Booking links, eSIM partners, flight searches

Current Status

✅ MVP live and working

✅ Admin dashboard with full CMS

✅ Blog + Deals section for SEO

✅ Partner/affiliate tracking system

🔄 Working on in-app booking (hotels, flights, cars)

Lessons Learned So Far

Start with real APIs - Mock data kills motivation

Admin tools early - You'll need them more than you think

i18n from day 1 - Adding it later is painful

Build in public - Feedback is gold

The Vision

Evolve from a trip planner into a travel super app - one platform for planning, booking, and managing entire trips.

Would love feedback from the community! What would you add? How would you approach monetization differently?
