Priorities changing as I go through pregnancy and closer to motherhood
I have ADHD and am usually one of those people that thinks I failed at life if I don’t get like 5-10 tasks done daily whether it’s in or outside of work.
I’ve been on maternity leave since 5-6 months pregnant. I’m at the 9 month mark (36+5) and I’ve got to say I’m now somewhat use to doing… like nothing. Man it feels good to have low expectations and just focus on relaxing as much as possible alongside eating good food. It’s so weird because I’ve never done this comfortably in my life. Maybe when I was 10. I’ve been go go going to the max since around 12, I’m 25 and it’s such an odd sensation.
I’ll forgot things I probably should’ve got done and just didn’t have the insane stress surrounding it like I use to. Little things just don’t matter as much. My absolute top priority is delivering a healthy little life form.
That’s not to say I’m just going to drop everything and let my life fall apart after becoming a mom but damn priorities do change.
