3.5-month-old sleeping great at night but short naps — should I sleep train?
My daughter is 3 and a half months old, and she sleeps from 7 PM to 4 AM. Then I put her back down, and she sleeps until 6 AM. I feel so blessed with her night schedule so far.
However, naps during the day are a different story. She takes about 4 naps a day, and each one is only around 30 minutes. The longest naps she takes are in the carrier, where she can sleep for 1–2 hours.
I’m wondering if I should do sleep training, but I really don’t want to mess things up and risk her not sleeping well at night. It’s hard to put her down for naps sometimes — I usually have to hold the pacifier in her mouth until she falls asleep. At night, though, she seems so tired that she doesn’t even care about the pacifier.
How can I extend her naps during the day? I feel like I’ve tried everything except cry-it-out. I understand that she can’t really self-soothe yet, and since she sleeps well at night, I don’t want to ruin that.
Is anyone else in the same situation? I really need more time to get things done while she’s sleeping. I cut her naps down to 4 to see if that would help her sleep longer, but they’re still the same length or sometimes even shorter.
Any advice or shared experiences would be really appreciated
