Let’s start a consumer strike

Here’s the idea: a national campaign to collect pledges from American consumers to cut their quarterly discretionary spending by 25%. We all have mandatory expenses, but if enough people cut their discretionary spending by 25% for 3 months, the impact on the nations’s GDP - one of the few measures that Trump cares about (along with his polling numbers and the stock market) - will be eye-poppingly significant.
