I think I'd be a better sub if I understood Doms better. Can anyone help explain what's so appealing?

Let me know if there's a better place or another good place for this question!

I'm so far from dominant as my natural personality that I can't fully understand from the dominant side his drives, sadism, the enjoyment of control and shaping someone, the appeal of being a Daddy, really any of it lol. He gets me so easily and can put me in sub space so easily. But if I want to let him know what he does for me and to me, sexually and otherwise, I barely know what to emphasize.

I think I could push the right buttons so much better and make this more fulfilling, with dirty talk or my behavior, if I had a more intuitive understanding of dominant drives and psychology. I can understand or observe THAT he likes certain things but I'm so far from being able to relate that I can't view it from his side at all and I just have some puzzle pieces but don't get the puzzle. I want help not being so clueless and disconnected from that side of things.

Does anyone have any suggestions for how I can understand better? Can anyone explain the appeal of control, sadism, being a Daddy Dom, being served and surrendered to, guiding someone (sexually and in life), and being a Dom in general?
