Love evolving to hate and frustration.

A bit of a spoiler here… not sure but feel like I’m about 75% done.. I love PROGRESSING in metroidvanias but it seems like the opposite is happening. Not only am I losing my max health but I’ve lost the ability to purchase upgrades! I have all of this money and cores but nowhere to spend. Meanwhile the game is getting more difficult and I’m getting more and more lost. Someone help. I’m about to give up on this game. Really loved it for the first several hours but now I’m really hating this game.
