Android Auto not working...but phone says connected, calls working..no maps or Spotify. "can't connect"

as the title says, my Android Auto just stopped working, but it says my phone is connected, shows up in the top right, shows my call history...

but when I click Play on a song, it immediately pauses the song and Android Auto is grayed out. I've tried forgetting the phone, and on the phone forgetting the truck. I've uninstalled and reinstalled android auto on my phone, cleared cache....and it doesn't work when plugged in. I'm out of options. Any ideas?
