My ears started hurting when I listened to music on my (on-ear) headphones
For some time now, my ears have started hurting when I listen to music on headphones. It's always the music itself, the sounds within it (regardless of volume). I can listen to music normally on regular speakers. I've listened to music on headphones my whole life and never had this problem, but now I'm using different noise-canceling headphones, which unfortunately recently produced a very loud sound. Could that be the cause? My hearing seems fine; it even seems more sensitive to sounds now. I'm going to the doctor in a few days.
