How to stay motivated despite no one in your life being interested in your work?

Discussion

Hey yall, I spent the past 3 years writing a book and have recently started writing a second. Neither is published, but I'm in the process of querying my first. My issue is that I'm having a hard time being motivated to keep going because no one in my life is actually interesting in my work, family or friends.

This kinda baffles me because all my family are bookworms and my friends are into dnd fantasy (my book is essentially a dnd game in the since there's multiple characters in a party). I understand that you can't force people to be interested in something, but my family actually thought I was mentally challenged and sent me to a few places as a kid because I didn't like to read. So I thought they would be happy for me to actually write a book, but none of them have read or shown any interest in my work. Each time i bring it up or send them snippets of what I wrote that day, they just ignore it. Only person to actually read my book was my mother who told me she liked it but thought it was going to be bad, ever since then she never brought up anything about it and doesn't care for me talking about it.

sorry if this comes off as a rant, its been on my mind for a while. I could def use some tips staying motivated to continue and if this resonated with anyone please let me know. I dont want to feel like this is only a me issue
