Which board mounts well with that acoustic panel look?

I might be overthinking it and it might not matter, but is there any sort of board or mounting system preferred for these set ups I see with the acoustic wall panels?

For example, looking at the Blade 6 TC, it comes with a bracket so the board can mount at the pre drilled centre point. Assuming you cut out a small area of the panel so the bracket is installed into drywall which means there’s added depth between back side of board and point to which the board is mounted. Do the rota-lock levelling extend out far enough to account for the depth?
