Rental budgeting doesn’t really stop at the rent amount

I planned my rent carefully, but everything around it added up slowly. Setup costs, small repairs, and society charges weren’t part of my initial budget. Even after saving brokerage through nobroker, monthly expenses felt higher than expected. Nothing was unreasonable, just underestimated. It made me realise rental budgeting needs to include more than just rent.
