Support needed, new mum

We had our baby boy a week ago via C section. I couldn’t colostrum harvest before birth, and all the classes and workshops I attended made me internalize that the breast is best for baby.

Post birth, baby was very sleepy and couldn’t latch properly. In my drugged and helpless state, I decided to start giving baby formula in the hospital. I was constantly shamed for not being able to feed, without any real support or tips. The baby did latch a little but couldn’t suck properly. And we continued formula feeding. Now my milk has come in, but baby isn’t able to suck despite multiple attempts to hand express while feeding. I’m helpless and don’t know how to get him off formula. My plan is to pump to increase supply, keep trying to breastfeed in the hope he latches well and sucks. And of course continue formula feeding because a fed baby is better.

I’m an anxious mess and I’m looking for support, resources and any reassurance on this situation.
