[Innovation] The "Titration Gap": Why Transdermal Delivery is failing in emerging markets (and the architecture to fix it).
We often blame patient non-adherence on behavior. I believe it’s often a hardware failure.
I’m operating in Brazil (where opioid prescriptions are up 850%). The gold standard for safety here is Transdermal Buprenorphine.
The flaw? The titration steps are too steep (5mg -> 10mg -> 20mg). This gap creates a "therapeutic cliff" where patients either experience withdrawal (too low) or toxicity (too high) when trying to move up a dose.
I’ve developed and patented a prototype (Daytiva-S) that solves this by allowing micro-adjustments in transdermal delivery, effectively smoothing the curve.
We are seeing Methadone fail due to peak/trough volatility. We are seeing Restiva fail due to dosage gaps.
I’m looking to connect with others working on "Smart Patch" technology or transdermal delivery systems. Are you seeing similar hardware limitations in other markets?
