Would Rocky's life have been better if he had lost to Creed in Rocky II?

In other words, if Rocky had lost to Creed in Rocky II, he would have continued being a boxer. He might have helped Mickey at the gym, he might have had fights, I don't know if he would have become a champion because of Clubber and because Rocky as a boxer wouldn't have evolved. But one thing I'm sure of: there wouldn't have been the fight between Creed and Drago, Creed would still be alive, and Rocky wouldn't have suffered brain damage.
