Convince me to stick with The Rookie – when did it really click for you?

Hey everyone, I’m genuinely curious and hoping for some honest fan insight here. I’ve watched the first three episodes of The Rookie and… it hasn’t quite clicked for me yet. I don’t hate it, but I also haven’t felt that “okay, I’m in” moment. What’s confusing me is that so many people love this show. Several of my friends swear by it, the fanbase is huge, and it keeps getting renewed – so clearly, I’m missing something.

A bit about my taste: I love action, procedurals, drama, and comedy – so on paper, The Rookie should be right up my alley.

So I’d love to hear from fans: What is the main appeal of The Rookie for you? Is it the characters, the long-term arcs, the humor, the action, the emotional beats? Does the show change or deepen after the first few episodes? And most importantly: at what point did it personally hook you?

I’m not trying to bash the show at all – I actually want a reason to keep going. I’ve had plenty of series where the beginning didn’t grab me, but later seasons absolutely won me over.

So: 👉 Should I stick with it? 👉 If yes, how far should I watch before deciding it’s not for me?

Looking forward to your thoughts – and thanks in advance!
