There's nothing green about the way we live.
Regardless of how eco-friendly you think you are, you probably aren't all that green unless you live on some commune, grow your own food, hand make your clothes, and bathe and wash said clothes without soap in a nearby body of water.
As much as people like to think green technology or some other form of "green" urban living is eco-friendly, those things are oxymorons. Cities are horrible for the environment, no matter how green. They're almost as horrible for the environment as the sourcing and separating of the rare earth minerals that green tech ravenously carves out of the Earth in giant pits in the third world.
Think about just how many resources any given city goes through in the span of an hour or how much natural land is destroyed to make cities. Think about all of the people crammed into each square mile in any given city, especially in apartment or condo buildings. Think about all of the water cities consume and waste every single hour let alone every week, month, or year.
Our current way of living is incompatible with a healthy environment, no matter how "green". You could get rid of fossil fuels and turn the suburbs and exurbs back to forest or other natural land tomorrow, and we'd still be destroying our planet on an astounding scale.
This is another one the mods of unpopularopinion of course removed. I guess they can't handle being told what a farce the idea of green urban living is.
