18 weeks pregnant, possible waters leaking? Anyone experienced this?

I'm from the Uk. I'm 22, pregnant with my second. I'm just looking for some reassurance or similar experiences while I wait to be checked.

I’m currently 18 weeks pregnant and today I started having pelvic pain and noticed thin, watery discharge. It’s a bit stringy, comes and goes (there when I wipe, then not, then there again), and it has a slightly sweet smell. I’ve also felt hot, sweaty and flushed and just generally off. I don't recall having this watery stuff with my first.

I’ve spoken to maternity triage and they want me to come in, I’m just waiting for someone to come for childcare so I can go up. I’ve got a pad on as advised.

I always thought waters breaking couldn’t really happen this early, so I’m just feeling anxious and wondering....has anyone else experienced something similar around this stage and it turned out okay? Did it end up being discharge / mucus / infection rather than waters.

I know Reddit isn’t medical advice, I am going to be seen, just trying to calm my nerves while I wait.
