Fmla / union steward type question
Ok, so help me out here.
Last year i was approved for fmla in early march for the postal leave year.
I used my last day of it in january/i've exhausted it right before the postal leave year ended.
I went to the doctor, used the same case # i was provided in 2025.
My fmla for this year has been approved, but not to start until March (the same day it started last year)
Which i guess makes sense because its 12 weeks for a 12 month period, correct?
If i had started a new case, would it have been approved sooner? Not have to wait until March?
On my approval for this year, it doesnt say its through the postal leave year, but my supervisor gave me the dates it was approved for: march-postal leave year (january 8th, 2027)
So im a bit lost.
shouldnt it be good from march of this year through march of next year?🤔
Ive asked my steward this question but he wasn't 100% sure.
(Im still learning the fmla rules, dont be venomous, its a legit question)
