options for Product photography ?

Hi, I’m into product photography, mostly small items like watches, and I usually shoot in a simple home studio with tripod and lights. I’m not a pro, just trying to get really sharp and clean photos, so I’m looking for camera and lens suggestions that are good for close-up (macro) work, nice colors and details, in different budget ranges. Any advice from people who have tried this would be great.
Around $1500 USD,
This will be my first camera setup, so I don’t have any equipment yet.
Small products such as watches, rings, and similar accessories (product photography, close-up/macro).
Primarily photography.
