I realized I stopped using socmed because I didn’t feel seen.

It almost felt embarrassing when my friends got more likes for a simple post and I’d get like only 3-5 likes for a heartfelt post. It’s the reality na even if madami akong friends/followers, not everyone truly support who I am. Not all my friends/followers like me as a person. I don’t feel seen on socmed. I share stuff for myself. I share pictures for myself, sure. But it’s a good feeling parin to have someone join you in appreciating what you shared/posted.

I was always wondering bakit bigla akong tumahimik sa socmed. The more I lost friends, the more silent I got. Dati madami pa nagtatag sakin sa post, naggreet sa birthdays, nagrreact sa stories ko and the attention was somewhat comforting. Maybe I’m not that interesting as a person kasi kahit in real life, people barely notice me or take interest in me. The only time I feel seen is when I’m achieving something and I rarely achieve anything.

It’s ok to accept that socmed is not for everyone. It’s not that deep, I guess.
