Zine gets cancelled because of pro/anti discourse

So I’ve recently joined a zine for a fairly large fandom, it was a pretty big thing with a lot of big named artists starring. Just yesterday someone called out one of the artists as having a ‘proship’ alt account and it all devolves from there, one of the artists called out the mods in the general discord saying they can’t believe the mods would let in a “pedo” in a dc with minors (there are no minors in the dc you have to be 18+ to join) and when the mods deleted that message, a friend of theirs immediately chimed in saying the mods were trying to cover up the problem. They then made a callout post on twitter saying they’re leaving the zine and telling everyone not to support it as they let proshippers in, and that one of the mods also write proshipping fics (it was a t rated fic about two unrelated adults but okay) since then mods had to disable comments as they were getting hate even on their personal accounts, and artists started leaving en masse because they don’t wanna be associated with the project. Not sure if this even belongs here but i’m just sad that the project has to fall apart like that because of something so trivial 😔 especially since its a sfw no ships zine where the artists personal ship preferences wouldnt even affect the zine in any way.
