How should i learn legal and financial basics should I know before handling family property and shifting to a mortgaged house?
I’m 19 and currently need to take responsibility for handling property and housing-related decisions for my family.
We own only one residential property, which is our primary financial security. We are now planning to shift to another house under a mortgage arrangement, which we have never done before. I’ll be handling most of the paperwork and decision making, as my parents are not well educated and are unfamiliar with legal and financial processes.
I want to make sure we:
-
Do not risk losing our existing house
-
Avoid fraud, bad agreements, or unclear clauses
-
Follow the correct legal process while shifting to a mortgaged house
i belong to EWS and i fear if my eligibility will be affected....
Our current house is worth 40 lacs out of which 25-30 lacs will be used in mortgage leaving us with 15 lacs which also needs to be saved properly and all this also gives us no permanent address and no longer any owned property under our name...
I come from a science background and am trying to educate myself about property laws in India, mortgage arrangements, and common ways people are misled or exploited in such situations.
I’m trying to make an informed decision and would be grateful for any legal insights or resources.
