Mormon Musing

You all know how the church emphasizes having a current temple recommend and attending the temple often! I lived in Sunset, UT. I made an appointment for my temple worthiness interviews to renew my temple recommend. After the first bishopric interview, I was waiting for the second, stake interview. My controlling, abusive husband called me and told me to get home now! He refused to watch his own kids for a few minutes. Like the submissive, obedient wife I was indoctrinated to be, I went home.

Next Sunday, a stake leader spoke in sacrament meeting. He mentioned that it is good there are two interviews to get a temple recommend, because one’s conscience may get to them between interviews, causing them to discontinue seeking a temple recommend unworthily.

I knew he was talking about me. He couldn’t have been more wrong. I have since left my husband and the church.
