Back to genshin after a few years, lf advice!

I quit genshin a hot min ago, I want to say half way through sumeru? Ive recently downloaded it again, and i'm aware some characters have gotten buffs, and idk where i should start back as Im so far behind! Id like to know who i should have as my main team, and all that - I used to be a xiao main, but from what ive heard from my sibling, hes not the greatest to play anymore! any advice is very much appreciated!
