Local AuPost handed my new iPhone to a wrong person

I recently bought a new iPhone from Apple and selected "Pickup from LPO" instead of delivery due to security reasons or so I thought (didn't want them to hand it to someone other than me). Irony is, what I was trying to avoid, they made it happen exactly that. They gave my parcel to a person who's name isn't even remotely close to mine. They told me he is a regular and will call me as soon as they have it back. I've contacted Apple and also lodged a complaint with AuPost. Will I receive full compensation if the person decides not to give the phone back? Learned an expensive but valuable lesson.
