It may sound ridiculous, but I needed a system to rotate the shower gels I use, because my collection is quite large. I love having so many options, but it also felt overwhelming. For some reason, choosing randomly gave me a headache. I guess my brain interpreted it as chaos, and making the decision myself was oddly mentally exhausting, like trying to pick a movie to watch or deciding what to cook.

Trying to “pan” them isn’t for me either; I get bored and frustrated, so that approach just wouldn’t work.

So I wrote the names of all my shower gels on small cards and divided them into four categories (two main ones and two subcategories):

1. Older or almost-used-up gels

2. The rest

3. Spring/summer

4. Autumn/winter

Each rotation consists of four shower gels.

– Each month, I draw a “gel of the month” from category 2 in the autumn/winter pile (until March).

– Each week, I draw two gels from the same category so I can explore what I have and finally use some untouched bottles.

– Lastly, I draw one gel from category 1, which helps me gradually use up older bottles.

However childish it may be, I love my “boxes of fate” 😅 🔮I’m now genuinely excited to see what I’ll get for the upcoming week, and the whole process finally feels peaceful…more fun, less stress.

My brain clearly needed this kind of structure, and I thought it might be helpful for others with similar issues 😅

Let me know if you have any system 😌🤍
