Tuner recommendations

Hello fellow acousticas. I recently played a gig where I had some tuning issues - I just use a clip on Snark Super Tight tuner, which I’ve had several of over the years (either lost or broken so had to replace). I’ve never had any issues with it before, but at a gig on Saturday I must have spent a good 5-10 minutes of the 40 minute set tuning. The tuner seemed to indicate I was in tune when I wasn’t, then the little dial graphic would keep switching to different keys and then kept moving up and down erratically. I don’t know if it was an issue with the room, but I had it on vibration rather than mic setting. Someone also suggested it might be a battery issue.

Anyway, just wondering if anyone has experienced anything similar or could recommend a good clip on tuner. I’m also just wondering if it would be best to get a tuning pedal instead as after speaking with another guitarist afterwards he said that the clip ons are unreliable and not always accurate.
