2 years since Diagnosis
It’s been 2 years and here is my outlook - Oct 2023 (age 19)
Routine eye test picked up IOP ~30/30 mmHg on air-puff. No symptoms. Started on Xalatan.
Dec 2023
Reviewed and switched to Xalacom. Anatomy noted as narrow but open angles.
Jan 2024
Pressures still elevated on treatment. Early glaucoma changes noted.
• VFI: \~90% left eye, \~99% right eye
• RNFL: thin, left worse than right
Feb 2024 (early)
Escalated to Alphagan + Xalacom. Strong response.
• IOP: \~10–11 mmHg both eyes
• VFI: \~89–90% left, \~99% right
Dec 2024
While overseas, pressures again elevated on Goldmann.
• IOP: \~28 mmHg left / \~25 mmHg right
Switched to Simbrinza + xalacom
Dec 20, 2024
After starting Simbrinza:
• IOP: \~15/15 mmHg
Jan 20, 2025
• IOP: \~15/15 mmHg
• VFI: \~89% left, \~99% right
July 24, 2025
• IOP: \~15 mmHg left / \~18 mmHg right
• Visual fields considered stable
Most recent visit (early 2026)
• IOP: \~18 mmHg in one eye and \~21 mmHg in the other
• VFI: right eye \~99% (essentially normal); left eye improved to \~92%, with a mild localised defect (one test flagged low reliability)
• RNFL: thin (I’m myopic), with a small (\~5 µm) change noted on one scan, but this was done on a different OCT machine and hasn’t clearly repeated
I AM REALLY SCARED THAT PRESSURES WILL CONTINUE TO CREEP UP AND I WILL NEED A SURGERY ! I am already on high drops. Is this just a one off reading , like a bad day ? Help
