One Piece TCG market context : Why the trend still looks unusually strong

Hey everyone!

I’ve been following the One Piece TCG secondary market quite closely over the last months, and from a pure market perspective, OP really stands out compared to most other TCGs.
A few observations I found interesting from a finance / investing angle:

• Sustained positive market trend
Even after several releases, the overall market value keeps trending up instead of mean-reverting quickly (which is often what we see in newer hype-driven TCG cycles).

• Healthy market breadth
It’s not just a handful of chase cards carrying the market. A large share of cards are still trending positively, which usually points to organic demand rather than pure speculation.

• Momentum > volatility
Price action looks more like controlled expansion than erratic spikes, something that tends to matter if you’re thinking mid-term rather than short flips.

• Relative strength vs other TCGs
When comparing OP to MTG, Pokémon or Lorcana using the same indicators, OP currently behaves more like an expanding market than a saturated or young one.

To me, this kind of signal is useful mainly to understand market structure and overall health, rather than to time individual card buys.

How I track this
I’ve been building a dashboard to follow market-level indicators across TCGs (market value index, momentum, breadth, volatility, etc.), mostly to compare games rather than individual cards. Happy to share if anyone's interested.

Would love to hear how others here read the current OP market, especially from a longer-term perspective.
