Glute medius exercises for strength and stability (Runner)
I'm a 16M distance runner who struggles with peroneal tendinopathy and tight QL because of weak hips (mainly glutes)
I'm currently doing: 2 strength sessions / week of 1-1,5 hours each, 2 Glute medius exercises/session, 3 sets/leg on each. I choose between these
1
Half Pistol squat with abduction (half ROM, with a band between your legs, the leg that stays in the air goes into abduction, so that the other leg has to resist the knee from coming inwards)
2
Captain Morgans
3
Standing leg abductions (with a band between legs, the standing leg also works to balance and stabilize)
4
Side plank (bottom knee on the floor and the upper leg in straight abduction)
5
Floor to side plank with clam shell (same as previous but dynamic, go down un go back up while you open the upper leg like in a clam shell)
What are your best glute medius exercises to work on it? Reps, sets..?
Am I doing it well? enough?
Thanks, stay hard
