I'm 19F, bisexual, got involved with my 36-year-old married professor
I'm 19 years old (F), in university (first few semesters or so), bisexual, and still a virgin when it comes to penetration (I've had kisses, touching, and stuff with girls and guys, but never gone all the way). I've always been really private about my orientation because I come from a very Catholic family. About a year ago, I started talking to one of my university professors. I'll call him Jan. He's 36, married, and at first it was just class questions, then more personal messages, laughs, trust... and little by little it turned into something more. I don't know exactly how it happened, but we ended up in very intimate conversations, really intense closeness... but we haven't had penetrative sex. He makes me feel desired, understood, special. I know it's wrong because he's my professor and he's married, but at the time I felt so alone and he filled a huge void. At the same time, I started dating a girl from the gym I go to. It was something new, exciting, and for the first time I felt like I could truly be myself with someone my age. With her, I did have a lot more physical contact too, but still no sex. But my mom found out (I don't know how) and exploded. She said horrible things to me: that I'm a sinner, that I'm disappointing her, that I'm a shame to the family. She yelled that if I kept up with "that," I should get out of the house. I cried a lot, felt like trash. I've never felt so much rejection from my own family. In the middle of the panic, I told Jan everything (yes, I told him about the girl from the gym, about my mom, everything). I thought he was going to judge me or tell me to calm down, but surprisingly he said that if things got worse, I could come live with him... and with his family. He said something like that he would take care of me, that he wouldn't leave me alone. I was stunned. His family? His wife? Does she know about our messages, about how we are with each other? I thought not, that everything was secret between us. Now I don't know what to believe. Is he really willing to bring his student—the one he's involved with—into his home? Is he manipulating me? Or does he actually care that much about me? I'm a total mess: I feel attracted to Jan; he makes me feel valued when no one else does. But I know he's married, that this could ruin his marriage. I don't know why he proposed it, if his wife is aware. My mom rejects me for being bisexual and now I'm without family support. I have a girl I really like, but all this drama has me paralyzed. And Jan's offer scares me—it sounds romantic in theory, but in practice it's insane. What happens if his wife finds out? What happens to me if everything blows up? I don't know what to do. I want to pull away from Jan because I know it's wrong, but I'm terrified of being left with no one. I want to fix things with my mom, but I don't know if she'll ever forgive me or accept me. I want to keep seeing the girl from the gym, but I feel guilty and confused.
