Cloth diapering in India is different - here’s what parents should actually prepare for
A lot of cloth diapering advice online comes from very different living conditions.
From what we’ve seen with Indian families, here are some realities worth preparing for:
• Washing machines, water quality, and electricity cuts vary a LOT.
• Drying space is often limited (balconies, monsoons, winter sun).
• Many families rely on helpers or shared laundry routines.
• Daycare and grandparents' acceptance plays a big role.
• Western routines don’t always translate smoothly here.
None of this means cloth diapering is impossible - it just means it looks different in Indian homes.
