More dark red hit markers?

I love how realistic the bleed out animations are, way more satystying than a simple headshot. Is there a way to get more dark red hitmarkers? For me they are rare as hell, about 5-7 for the entire playthrough. Either it's a mod, ammo or specific place to aim, all would be appreciated.
