Sigenergy in Victoria with AusNet

We’re currently planning out a solar and Sigenergy battery installation at our house in Victoria. I love the Sigenergy modular inverter and battery system with the gateway.

However, I have heard that AusNet need to “approve” your installation and that the inverter needs to be vetted by them, be permanently connected to the internet, and must allow them to control you inverter to stop the feed to the grid when needed. Is this true?

Many people here seem to have gone through with installs in Victoria and I am wondering how many are with AusNet? What was your experience?

Do they really demand Internet access to your inverter/gateway even if you don’t plan on exporting anything back into the grid? or am I totally getting the wrong end of the stick?
