Couple of questions from a new user (installer safety and cpu temp)

Hi, I just obtained Protectcli VP2430 which came preinstalled with Opnsense. I updated to latest version but have couple of questions:

1. Is it safe to continue using the pre-installed version or is it always better to install it myself? Is there other ways a way to see if it was no tampered with?

2. Is there a way to monitor the cpu temperature of Protectcli? There is Reporting -> Health setting but when I filter under processor the graph is not showing temperature. In System -> Settings -> Miscellaneous I also tried multiple thermal sensor options but that does not change anything.
