Dating goals

Why do people put “life partner” or “long term relationship” alongside “intimacy without commitment”? Do they not realise they cancel each other out?

E.g from my perspective, as someone who is interested in a long term relationship, the second I see “intimacy without commitment” I swipe left. I imagine someone who wants IWC would also swipe left if they saw life partner. I feel like this massively limits their success for either option.

Just want to hear from people who do this and why!
