Can the compensator on a springfield echelon cause the muzzle blast to burn your face when firing from retention? Or is that fudd lore?

Curious to know because Im thinking about a Springfield Echelon 4.0C comp. And I don’t wanna burn my eyes out if I have to shoot from retention.
