Have you ever felt pressured to ship hype instead of clarity in your app?
I’ve been thinking about how often “distraction” gets used as a strategy — not just in media or politics, but in apps too.
In mobile development, it’s common to see flashy launches, constant feature announcements, redesigns, or AI buzz… while core issues like transparency, data accuracy, or UX clarity stay unresolved.
From my experience, users might download because of hype, but they only stay when the fundamentals are solid and honest. Once trust is broken, no amount of new features really fixes that.
Curious how other devs see this:
• Do distraction-style launches actually work long term?
• Have you ever shipped hype instead of fixing core problems?
• How do you balance marketing noise vs real product quality?
Genuinely interested in dev perspectives here.
