Been using a PC for 6 months, curious about its real potential — but stuck and confused. Need direction.
Hi everyone, I’ve been using a PC regularly for the past six months. I understand basic stuff — what a PC can do, what it can’t, how people use it for editing, coding, etc. Some of my friends are into video editing, some into programming. But here’s my problem: I’m interested in computers, evolution of tech, APIs, future stuff — but I don’t know what exactly to do on a PC. I don’t want to blindly learn coding or editing just because “everyone does it.” I want something that helps me understand the machine itself, how it works, why it works, and how people really use PCs in powerful or creative ways. I’ve tried learning math thinking it might help (even struggled with algebra), tried looking into coding — but nothing really “clicks.” I don’t grab onto things unless they genuinely blow my mind or make sense at a deeper level. I’m from India, fairly new to PCs, and honestly a bit lost. I’m not chasing money right now — I’m chasing clarity and curiosity. So my questions are: How did you figure out what to do with your PC? Are there ways to learn computers that aren’t just “learn X language” or “do Y editing”? What would you recommend for someone who wants to understand computers + future tech, not just use tools? Any guidance, experiences, or reality checks are welcome. Thanks.
